Today I’m supposed to give my little girl and possible future children a piece of advice. I may not be the wisest person but I feel like I’ve learned a few things in my lifetime.
I don’t have just one big piece of advice for you that will make your life better or make the world a better place. Instead, I’ve come up with a few different things that when applied together might actually do you some good.
Always ask questions.
I never want you to blindly believe everything you are told. This will be important when it comes to decisions about who you spend you life with, what you choose to believe in and who you surround yourself with.
Judge nobody. There is no sure way to know what battles they may be fighting of their own or those that they have overcome. Not everybody will be raised as you are and you have to be open and accepting of them and how they may have been raised.
Something it took me a long time to be at peace with is that not everyone will always like you. There will always be that one person that just can’t get past something about you and you should NEVER let that dictate who you are as a person. If they can’t get past a fault you may have or something about you that is different from them then it is their loss and they are missing out on an amazing person. Instead you have to live your life in such a way that you are happy with yourself. Trust me, if you start to focus on that one thing about you that someone else can’t live with then you will start to make yourself unhappy.
Believe in yourself,
Mommy
