Another blogger friend, Polly from Sew Fatty had a custom set of 3 sock monkey beanies made for her kiddos. Michelle was even able to accommodate adding a bow to the sock monkey hat for big sister.
As a hobbyist photographer, I’m always on the lookout for adorable props and accessories for photo sessions. Not long ago, fellow blogging mama Michelle from The Not-So-Secret Confessions of a Second Time Mom took on a new adventure in creating custom crochet creations. Two Brothers Blankets was born and although she specializes in custom baby blankets, I have seen the uber adorable hats and beanies going out as she posts sneak peeks for customers on her Facebook page.
Since Natalia was never much of a hat girl, well still isn’t really, I challenged Michelle to create a cute little crocheted crown for photos to introduce our newest addition to long distance friends and family. She took it one step further and even included a crocheted ruffle bum diaper cover.
So here you go everyone, meet little Kaliah Rose. She was born at 6 lbs 10 oz and measuring 18 1/2 inches. Here she is in her custom Two Brothers Blankets princess crown and diaper cover at only 5 days old.
In perfect timing, the set got here the day Kaliah was born. I had sent Jake to our house really quick to drop my mom off so she had a real bed to sleep in and to grab a couple other things and he found it in the mail. He thought it was so adorable that he actually even brought the crown to the hospital for baby girl to wear home. Seemed fitting to me especially given the special bling for a special occasion. You can see the cute little ruffles on the bum here. I wish Kaliah would’ve complied while she was wearing them and I was taking photos, but she just wasn’t a fan of being on her tummy to show them off. I did notice with the pattern sizing of the diaper cover that it only fit over a newborn disposable diaper at three days old and by the time I tried round two of photos in cloth (at about a month old) the cover wouldn’t fit over a disposable either.
