I thought the black might be too heavy for the girls’ room and I have been looking at going with a girly nautical inspired theme so I thought that a basic pink with light white would look best for not only that decorating idea, but any future ones as well. Part of me is considering even having a second canvas made with Natalia’s ultrasound so that they can both be equally represented. =)
As you can see, they even customize by adding baby’s name and can do an additional line below for baby’s birthday or other stats, but since this little girl hasn’t been born yet, I thought it was best to just leave it at the name. By the way, first time I’ve gone public with our name choice, what do you think? I really fell in love with the name Kalliope, which means “epic muse of poetry” but hubby and I couldn’t come to an agreement about how to spell it so that it was easier for her to spell later on. He kept thinking that it needs to be spelled the way it sounds and have an additional e on the end, but something inside me wouldn’t let him put “pee” in our kiddo’s name. Haha! Kaliah is a shortened version and actually finds it’s own origin from Hawaii meaning “merry & bright”. Rose was an easy choice because Jake’s grandmother’s name was Rose and my great grandmother’s name is Rosella so it was a pretty choice that was able to have meaning for both families.
I also want to add that you have total freedom over the final look of the print. The people at Koodle Kids were super patient with me even when I changed colors I think three different times. Plus, their emails were being routed to a different account of mine (thanks to auto fill putting in the wrong one) and they were still totally helpful, patient, and quick to email proofs back and forth.
If you know someone that’s expecting, consider getting them a gift from Koodle Kids that they can be proud to display and can be a lifetime keepsake. Choose from a digital file as well as a 12″ x 12″ canvas!
