This applesauce is so easy to make, it will become a regular item in my home.
The recipe has simple ingredients that you probably already have in your home and take maybe 10 minutes worth of effort on your part. The measurements I’m using are for a small batch of applesauce and yields about 3 cups. We got a few apples in our bountiful basket and my hubby missed my request not to eat any of the apples and left me with 4. It’s perfect for freezing in infant/toddler portions.
4 apples- peeled, cored & sliced
1/2 cup apple juice
2 Tbs sugar
1/8 tsp cinnamon
Once you’ve sliced your apples, chop each slice into thirds. Toss everything into a slow cooker and cook on low for 5 hours.
At this point you can puree it if you’d like. I used a slotted spoon and mashed just a bit and had the perfect texture. by chopping the slices, the apples are much softer and easier to mash.
My ladybug is 15 months old and LOVES this! She loves the mixed texture of only a couple chunks here and there that she can pick up in between spoonfuls fistfuls.
